I’m Olivia, an integrative counsellor with over 10 years’ experience working as a registered nurse across a variety of healthcare settings. My experience supporting people through vulnerability, illness and difficult life experiences continues to inform my compassionate, calm and empathetic approach to counselling.
I offer a warm and welcoming space where therapy is tailored to your individual needs, drawing on person-centred principles and a range of therapeutic approaches. Together, we can explore what feels most helpful for you, at your own pace, ensuring that you feel heard, understood and supported.
I welcome clients from Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, Newcastle upon Tyne and across North Tyneside for in-person counselling, alongside online counselling throughout the UK.
Services
A calm, supportive space to begin
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted, struggling with grief or relationship difficulties, or simply finding life hard to carry at the moment. Whatever has brought you here, I offer a confidential space where you can feel heard, supported and understood.
Beginning Counselling
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin exploring what has brought you to counselling. For clients attending in person, a selection of complimentary hot and cold drinks is available to help you feel comfortable and settled before we begin.
We will start by talking through the counselling process, giving you space to ask any further questions you may have. We can then sign the client–counsellor agreement together and complete a brief initial assessment. This helps us explore any concerns you may have, relevant background information, the support you are looking for, and what you hope to gain from our work together.
There is no pressure, you are free to share as much or as little as you wish, moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Some of the reasons people seek counselling include:

Working together
How can I help?
I support adults experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions and a range of other emotional challenges. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, struggling with difficult thoughts or emotions, navigating change, or simply aware that something doesn't feel quite right. Whatever brings you to counselling, we can explore it together in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space.
How I work
I offer integrative counselling, drawing on a range of therapeutic perspectives to support your individual needs. Influenced by Person-Centred, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Attachment and Transactional Analysis approaches, I tailor our work to your unique experiences, goals and circumstances. Together, we may explore how past experiences, relationships and patterns of relating can shape the way you see yourself and interact with others today.
My approach
My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel supported, so you can talk openly about whatever feels important. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to my work, allowing us to explore your experiences together in a way that feels safe, collaborative and meaningful to you.PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
